Audi has a history of introducing TT concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show and the latest rumors suggest this year will be no different.

According to AudiBlog.nl, the company could unveil a new concept which previews the next-generation model. Additional information is limited, but the site posted this sketch which borrows of a number of styling cues from the R8 and Detroit e-tron concept.

Skepticism is running high, but speculation suggests the new TT will adopt an aluminum-intensive platform and a more powerful engine lineup. If everything turns out to be true, the redesigned model could be positioned as a legitimate competitor to the Porsche Boxster / Cayman.
