Specialty marque's electric vehicle proves its capabilities in the RAC Future Car Challenge.

The Gordon Murray Design T.27 EV has won big at the RAC Future Car Challenge in the U.K. last weekend, taking three titles in the competition, including that of Best Overall Entry and Best Overall Pure Electric Vehicle.

The all-electric T.27 drove the 57.13 miles (92 km) from Brighton to London carrying 2 occupants and using just 64 pence (€ 0.92) of energy (electricity) - the equivalent of using 0.81 liters/ 100 km of petrol fuel or 346.7 mpg (imperial).

The T.27 comes with a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery powering a small electric motor with 34 PS (25 kW / 34 hp) and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft) of torque. Curb weight is just 680 kg (1,500 lb) and the T.27 has a range of approximately 100 miles (161 km) on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) on a full charge.
