In a recent interview, Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke confirmed the company is working on a model above the Insignia.

In a recent interview, Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke revealed some interesting new details about the company's future product lineup.

Despite Opel's past failures to succeed moving up-market, Stracke told Tagesspiegel "We need a car above the Insignia and we are working [on it]." Previous reports have indicated the model might be a hybrid or fuel-cell vehicle based on the long-wheelbase Epsilon II platform (which underpins the Buick LaCrosse).

Stracke also commented he could envision a Manta successor with new technology and an updated design. In addition, he discussed a "real" Opel GT revival but neither seems destined for production - as of yet.
