Video shows the e-tron Spyder in motion using its advanced diesel-hybrid drivetrain.

Here's a video released by Audi of America showing the e-tron Spyder out for a drive under the California sun in the environs of Malibu.

The Audi e-tron Spyder is a hybrid with a mid-mounted (rear) twin-turbo V6 TDI diesel engine producing 300 PS (221 kW / 295 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque powering the rear axle, while two electric motors fitted to the front axle produce a total of 64 kW (87 PS) and 352 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. Weight distribution in an even 50:50.

The 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) sprint takes 4.4 seconds and top speed is an electronically-limited 250 km/h (155.34 mph). Fuel-economy is a mere 2.2 liters/100 km (106.92 US mpg) with CO2 emissions of just 59 g/km (94.95 g/mile). A fill-up of diesel fuel on the 50-liter tank will get you a range of more than 1,000 km (621 mi) but driving in zero-emissions electric mode the range is 50 km (31 miles) with an electric-only top speed of 60 km/h (37 mph).
