Hyundai has released new information about two of their upcoming engines.
First up, the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol (dubbed the Gamma 1.6 T-GDI) will produce 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque. It was developed in-house, at a cost of 69.5 billion won ($60.6 / €43.7 million), and features an intercooler, direct injection and variable valve timing. Hyundai was coy on production details, but the engine should debut in the 2012 Veloster Turbo.
On the other hand, the R-2.0 diesel will create 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 383 Nm (282 lb-ft) of torque. Additional information is limited, but it's Euro 6 compliant and will likely be used in a variety of models.
