Smart will replace the ForTwo and make improvements to the ForTwo Electric as well as finally bring the ForFour to the United States.

Mercedes-Benz will be revamping the Smart lineup and doing more for the brand in the United States.

Last July, Mercedes-Benz took direct control of distribution of the Smart brand in the U.S.-market. Now, it is working on adding new products.

The German automaker has partnered with Renault on a replacement for the ForTwo model which will share a platform with the next-generation Twingo minicar. The replacement is due in 2014.

The ForTwo electric (pictured here) is also getting a revamp with new lithium-ion batteries and an upgraded interior.

Mercedes-Benz plans on bringing a new ForFour, a four-seater based on the next ForTwo with rear-wheel drive and a rear mounted engine, to the United States by 2015.
