New compact minicar from Skoda goes on sale in Europe next summer. A five-door version of the small hatchback will follow the base-model three-door variant.
Skoda has unveiled the new 2012 Citigo compact minicar.
Designed to be an urban cruiser just like its sibling, the Volkswagen up!, the Citigo measures 3.56 meters long, 1.65 m wide and stands 1.48 m tall. Luggage capacity is 251 liters for the boot/trunk which can be expanded to 951 liters with the rear seats down.
The Citigo comes with two all-new 1.0 liter three-cylinder petrol/gasoline engines, the first with an output of 60 PS (44 kW / 60 hp) and the second with 75 PS (55 kW / 75 hp). Opting for the Green Tec economy-minded variant will yield a fuel consumption rating of 4.2 liters/100 km and 4.3 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions of 97 g/km and 99 g/km, respectively, on the two units.
The Skoda Citigo will debut first as a three-door hatch with a five-door variant following later in 2012. The car goes on sale this year in its domestic Czech market while sales in the rest of Europe will begin next summer (2012).
