Chevrolet has announced the first Camaro ZL1 has been sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas.

When the hammer came down, Rick Hendrick had the winning bid of $250,000. While this a little pricey, Hendrick will receive the 69th Camaro ZL1 (in honor of the 1969 Camaro ZL1) with an exclusive Carbon Flash Metallic exterior. Additionally, all proceeds will benefit the YMCA of Southern Nevada.

As we have previously reported, the model has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 580 hp (432 kW / 588 PS) and 556 lb-ft (754 Nm) of torque. Other goodies include an aggressive body kit, Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management.
