Citing anonymous sources, CAR says the high-performance convertible has been axed. Despite the cancellation, the coupe will continue and there's word a Tokyo Edition - with an exposed carbon fiber roof - will be introduced later this year.

More interestingly, the magazine is reporting the company is developing two new sports cars besides the FT-86. Information is scarce, but one might be a "sporty" Lexus CT 200h while the other could be a 2014 Toyota Supra revival.
