Lincoln is the laughingstock of the automotive industry, but Ford is preparing to give the brand a chance at redemption.
As part of a billion dollar investment, the company will launch new or updated versions of the MKS, MKZ, MKX, MKT and Navigator. Additionally, Lincoln will gain a new entry-level sedan and, possibily, a small crossover.
To help distinguish the cars from their Ford counterparts, the Lincolns will reportedly feature retractable glass roofs, push-button gear selectors and a unique center console. Furthermore, all models will have sportier exhaust systems, eight-speed transmissions, optional all-wheel drive and special suspension tuning which aims to deliver BMW responsiveness and Lexus-like comfort.
Everything sounds rather promising, but we should learn more when the updated MKS debuts at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
