After months of anticipation, Lexus has officially unveiled the 2013 GS at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Designed to be spacious and contemporary, the model adopts a sporty design which was previewed by the LF-Gh concept at the New York Auto Show. As such, the car features a "spindle" grille, LED-infused headlights, a rear diffuser and a dual exhaust system.
The interior has a luxurious cabin with leather seats, wood trim, ambient lighting and an analogue clock. There's also an infotainment system with an eight-inch display (12.3-inches on models with the navigation package), an energy-saving climate control system (that uses occupant-detection technology) and an optional 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
Under the hood, three V6 engines will be available. Specifications haven't been released, but choices will include a 2.5-liter, a 3.5-liter and a hybridized 3.5-liter.
Lastly, the model rides on a revised platform that has a wider track (up 40mm front / 50mm rear) and a new multi-link rear suspension. Thanks to these changes, Lexus says the GS will provide a "more engaging driving experience" with "superior cornering."
Sales are slated to begin early next year.
