Here's some footage of two siblings out for a drive in the dry California countryside.

That would be the Tesla Roadster and the as-of-yet unreleased 2012 Tesla Model S sedan.

Tesla is betting on the Model S to be its breakthrough all-electric vehicle which will sell to the average consumer.

The Model S's top variant will be the 300M - the moniker reflecting the car's range of 300 miles (483 km) coming from a single charge to the 42 kWh lithium-ion battery. The Model S will do the 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 5.6 seconds and have a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).

Official prices on the Model S have not yet been announced but the 300M is expected to sell for around $77,000, after government tax credits are applied.
