New four-door coupe model will be based on the next-generation A-Class/B-Class platform.
Here we have some of the first spy shots available of the upcoming 2013 Mercedes-Benz BLS/CLC four-door coupe testing on a public road - somewhere in the desert southwest region of the United States.
The new four-door sedan/coupe model being developed by Mercedes is based on the next-generation A-Class/B-Class (MFA) platform and is often referred to as a baby CLS. Perhaps it will carry the CLC name which references its bigger brother, or it will go with BLS (or something with a 'B') to firmly establish its place within the B-Class family of variants.
Few details are available on this new model but it is expected to be FWD based with perhaps all-wheel-drive variants being offered later on.
As essentially a B-Class sedan variant, engine options expected include a 2.0 liter with 203 PS (149 kW / 200 bhp) and a 2.2 liter diesel with 172 PS (127 kW / 170 bhp).
