If you're tired of waiting for a 'proper' Jeep pickup, you might want to get in touch with Mopar because they have just launched the JK-8 Independence package for the Wrangler Unlimited.

Priced at $5,499 (€3,880), the conversion kit comes in a massive wooden crate that includes a fiberglass hardtop, new body panels and a steel bed that measures 50 inches long by 44 inches wide.

The conversion process isn't terribly difficult and Chrysler estimates mechanically-inclined owners can complete the job in as little as a weekend. However, there is welding involved so less ambitious customers can have the package installed at the dealership.
