German magazine Auto Bild managed to catch the BMW M3 DTM in action while testing. The car was spotted racing around the the Oschersleben race circuit, a full week before its scheduled unveiling at BMW World in Munich.

After the car was shown on the company's test track to BMW staff earlier this week, BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt said, "This marks yet another step towards our first race in 2012. However, many more steps have yet to follow."

You can see the clean images in Bild's online article about the race car.

The company's car will be used by three different teams during the German DTM touring car series, including RBM, RMG and Schnitzer. RBM and Schnitzer already contract with BMW for the World Touring Car Championships.

"The car used for the roll-out plus the Concept Car, which will be unveiled on 15th July in Munich, give a first taste of what our 2012 challenger will look like," Marquardt said. "We expect a lot to change visually on the car before the first race.”
