Ford has announced plans to increase their global sales by 50 percent, by mid-decade, to eight million vehicles annually.

While this is rather ambitious, Ford was not forthcoming with details. However, the company said they will have a "continued focus on global vehicles, including one midsize vehicle, one full-size commercial van and one global compact pickup." In addition, emerging markets will get decontented versions of global models that cost $1,000 to $2,000 less than other international versions.
