Both the 2.0 liter turbo and the 3.8 liter V6 units will receive a bump in output.

Inside Line is reporting that the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be making its debut next January at the 2012 Detroit motor show.

The next-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe will feature more power on both the engines offered on the coupe.

The 3.8 liter V6 will get a substantial bump in output, with the V6 unit now featuring direct-injection and a higher compression ratio as on the same unit recently introduced in the 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan. The 3.8 liter will produce 333 bhp (248 kW / 338 PS) and 291 lb-ft (394 Nm) of torque compared to the previous output of 306 bhp (228 kW / 310 PS).

The entry-level 2.0 liter turbo variant will also get a power boost but Inside Line doesn't have the scoop on exactly how much. In the current Genesis coupe, the unit produces 210 bhp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 302 Nm (223 lb-ft) of torque.

No news on whether there will be new transmission offerings. Currently, the 2.0 liter comes with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic with manual shift control. The 3.8 liter V6 unit comes is fitted to the 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic, also with manual shift.
