Subaru has been pretty quiet about their upcoming sports car, but a new report is indicating the STI variant will not have a turbocharged engine.
While that sounds rather ominous, Automotive News is reporting the car was always envisioned to be naturally-aspirated and Subaru won't mess with that philosophy. However, there have been numerous reports that the STI will, in fact, get a turbocharger so we're taking this with a healthy dose of skepticism.
Regardless, Subaru's senior general manager of product planning revealed the car will have a longer-than-average life cycle. This means the vehicle will probably get stale, but Subaru is developing a number of packages and variants to keep things fresh for an extended period of time.
