Ford has put its Team RS and SVT engineers together to fine-tune the 2012 Focus ST's driving dynamics.

Ford says it is putting the upcoming 2012 Ford Focus ST through the ringer as it undergoes its final testing.

From California highways to the Nürburgring in Germany, Ford is rigorously testing the new Focus ST which will come with a 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine delivering around 250 PS (184 kW / 246 bhp).

Both in Europe and North America, Ford has coupled engineers from its Team RS and SVT units to put a fleet of around 60 pre-production prototypes through a final round of development that will fine-tune the car's driving characteristics.

Not often does an automaker put out its own spy shots of a pre-production car like this. But Ford is very eager to make sure the Focus ST scores in the marketplace, particularly in its resurgent domestic market where overall sales have been boosted by the success of the Fiesta model.
