Designed specifically for the Chinese market, the K2 is based on the redesigned Rio and features aggressive styling that resembles the Optima.
Kia has unveiled the K2 at Auto Shanghai 2011.
Under the hood, two petrol engines will be available. Specifications haven't been released, but the 1.4-liter will likely produce 109 PS (80 kW / 108 hp) and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque. If that isn't powerful enough, the range-topping 1.6-liter should develop 135 PS (99 kW / 133 hp) and 165 Nm (122 lb-ft) of torque.
The Kia K2 will go into production in June and will be joined by a five-door hatchback in August.
