Our spies have caught the first pictures of the 2013 Ford Focus RS undergoing testing near the Nürburgring.

While we patiently await the arrival of the 2012 Ford Focus ST, our spies have caught the car's more powerful brother undergoing testing near the Nürburgring.

Dubbed Megan and Fox II - does someone at Ford have a crush? - the prototypes are early development mules which feature RS-branded sport seats, a center-mounted dual exhaust system and unique alloy wheels that cover a high-performance braking system.

Additional information is limited, but previous reports have indicated the Focus RS could use a hybrid powertrain that pairs a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with a rear axle electric motor. This would give the car an all-wheel setup as well as approximately 300 bhp (224 kW / 304 PS).
