Nissan teased the 2012 Versa late last year, but a new report is indicating the redesigned model will be unveiled at New York Auto Show.

While nothing is official, the car is expected to be heavily influenced by the Nissan Sunny which debuted at Auto China 2010. This means we can expect vastly improved styling and a traditional sedan body style.

No word on what will provide power, but the Sunny uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 108 hp (81 kW / 110 PS) and 148 Nm (109 lb-ft) of torque.

The New York Auto Show kicks off on April 20th, so stay tuned for details.
