With production yet to hit full stride, it's not entirely clear why the British supercar was in Seattle in the first place

The nutty professors at Jalopnik are reporting the first McLaren MP4-12C has crashed in Seattle, USA.

With production yet to hit full stride, it's not entirely clear why the British supercar was in Seattle in the first place. Reportedly, the 12C was out on a test run by a software engineer. It's not clear if the engineer was a McLaren employee, technician or hipster, but one thing for sure is that it lost its right front wheel on HY-99 Northbound as 3 police cars and two DOT trucks came to its aid.

According to a tipster, a coworker was able to snap this photo of the wounded 12C returning to a neighboring garage on a flatbed truck.

[UPDATE] More photos and details.
