'Manipulation' ad looks to distinguish the A6 from the competition by focusing on its aluminum-based construction.

Here's an ad that Audi has put out, called 'Manipulation', on the new A6 model highlighting the sport sedan's aluminum-intensive construction.

Audi is, of course, keen to point out this distinguishing feature of the A6 that sets it apart from the competition, as well as it's baby-brother the A4.

The A6 is built on a new aluminum-intensive chassis riding on steel springs, with an adaptive air suspension available as an option too. That makes for a sprightly curb weight of just 1,575 kg (3,472.28 lbs).

The A6 is based on a front-wheel drive architecture but also offers Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive technology on certain variants. The Quatro system on the A6 comes with a 40:60 rear bias and torque-vectoring as well as an optional sport differential. All together, those features add up to a supple ride for this mid-sized premium model going up against the likes of the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The 2012 Audi A6 is available now in Europe with prices in Germany starting at €38,500.
