RM Auctions has announced plans to offer a rare 1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta at their Biltmore event in Arizona on January 21st.

Originally commissioned for the 1949 Paris Motor Show, the roadster is one of 25 models to feature Barchetta coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, Italy. Furthermore, this particular vehicle won the 1950 Mar del Plata and competed in the 1951 Mille Miglia.

Under the hood, power is provided by a 2.0-liter V12 engine with an estimated 140 hp (104 kW / 142 PS). It is connected to a five-speed manual transmission, which enables the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 mph in approximately 27 seconds.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, be forewarned, it is expected to sell for more than $2,000,000 (€1,506,595 / £1,284,820).
