990 kg Belgian supercar gets 4.2 liter V8 Maserati power plant with 420 PS
This is the 2011 Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit - a supercar by Belgian specialty marque Automobiles Gillet.
Now, we don't editorialize here at WCF, so it's up to you as to whether this car can compete looks-wise. But some may argue that interior dash needs a little more design work.
Here are the facts:
The car now comes with a Maserati-sourced 4.2 liter V8 engine configured to 420 PS (309 kW), as opposed to the previous V6 supplied by Alfa Romeo. Automobiles Gillet offers a power upgrading for those who think that's not enough.
The engine is coupled to 6-speed sequential gearbox.
The chassis is made of a nomex/carbon monoshell which helps keep the weight down to 990 kg.
Front and rear suspension each feature 2 superimposed wishbones with independent wheels at the back.
The Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped in 225/35Z/R19 tires for the front and 275/35Z/R19 at the rear.
