General Motors has confirmed plans to build the 2012 Buick Verano in Lake Orion, Michigan.

While details are limited, the car will be based on the Chevrolet Cruze and feature styling from the Chinese market Excelle GT. The latter means we can expect a waterfall grille, porthole vents, and a luxurious interior.

Under the hood, power will likely be provided by a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque. This should enable the sedan to have a fuel efficiency rating of approximately 36 mpg highway.

More information will be released next year.
