Six months after it was unveiled, Lexus has announced detailed specifications for the CT 200h. Full coverage inside.
Lexus has announced detailed specifications for the CT 200h.
On sale early next year, the hybrid hatchback boasts 'L finesse' styling, a roof-mounted spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels and available LED headlights.
Inside, the cabin features an eight-inch LCD display, metallic accents and soft touch materials. To further ease the minds of environmentalists, Lexus installed "bamboo charcoal-based resin diaphragm speakers" and bioplastic dashboard components.
Power is provided by a 98 hp (73 kW / 99 PS) 1.8-liter VVT-i petrol engine and an 80 hp (60 kW / 82 PS) electric motor. Despite sounding pretty powerful, the combined output is 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). While this allows the hybrid to have an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 42 mpg (combined), acceleration suffers as 0-60 mph takes 9.8 seconds and the top speed is 112 mph (180 km/h).
The car is also outfitted with a four-mode drive selection switch, which allows owners to choose between maximum efficiency or performance. Sport mode reduces the influence of the safety nannies (stability control / traction control), while Eco mode retards throttle inputs and the air conditioner. Normal mode is, well, normal and EV mode enables the CT 200h to travel up to one mile emissions free at speeds up to 28 mph (45 km/h).
