Volkswagen has announced the 100,000th Scirocco III has rolled off the assembly line at the Autoeuropa plant in Portugal.

The model, a Scirocco R 2.0 TSI, was equipped with Rising Blue Metallic paint, a Titan Black interior, GPS navigation, Park Pilot (reverse parking sensors), and a sunroof. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, with 265 PS (195 kW / 261 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, that allows the front-wheel drive model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds (6.4 seconds with the DSG transmission).

According to Andreas Hinrichs, Autoeuropa Plant Manager, "The Scirocco is one of the most important cars that we produce. For myself personally, it was a moving moment."
