Audi has announced U.S. availability of the R8 Spyder 5.2 and RS5 Coupe. The roadster starts at $161,000 and the RS5 goes on sale in 2012.
Audi has announced U.S. pricing information for the highly anticipated 2011 R8 Spyder 5.2.
Set to arrive at dealerships "as soon as next month", the roadster will be priced from $161,000 (manual) and $170,000 (R tronic). It features a 5.2-liter V10 engine with 518 hp (386 kW / 525 PS) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque. This enables Spyder to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 195 mph (314 km/h).
Besides talking about the R8 Spyder, Audi confirmed rumors the RS5 will be offered in America starting in 2012. While the company was mum on U.S. specifications, the European version has a 4.2-liter V8 with 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. Backed up by a seven-speed S-tronic transmission, the 3,803 pound (1,725 kilogram) coupe rockets from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. While this is pretty impressive, it remains unclear if the U.S. version will have an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) or a drag limited top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
