Nissan is taking on Audi, BMW, and Porsche with a new ad campaign. It highlights the performance of the 370Z and GT-R.

Nissan UK has released details about the 'How to beat the Germans' ad campaign.

Designed to highlight the 370Z and the GT-R, the campaign points out the cars have "superior performance and yet cost less than their comparable German rivals."

As part of the promotion, the company drove an Audi TT-S around London with the words "More expensive, slower and less powerful than a Nissan 370Z" on it. Likewise, Nissan also outfitted a Porsche Cayman with the slogan "I dream of being as fast as a Nissan 370Z." The company feels justified making these statements because the 370Z Coupe (with a manual gearbox) accelerates from 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds which compares to 5.4 seconds in the TT-S and 5.8 seconds in the Cayman.

According to Steve McLennan, Nissan UK Marketing Director, "It simply challenges the convention of German sportscars being the only benchmark for performance and quality. Nissan is confident in the ability of 370Z and GT-R to eclipse our comparable German rivals in terms of outright performance and accessibility and it's now time to shout about it."

While Nissan is being a bully, it is interesting to notice the TT-S and Cayman have been debadged. This is undoubtedly the result of Porsche's threat to sue Nissan for copyright infringement.
