Could a smaller version of the Pagani C9 be coming to market? The company's founder would like to think so. Details inside.

A new V8-engined Pagani could enter development, according to company founder Horacio Pagani.  In an upcoming article for British magazine Evo, Pagani said he would like to see his firm bring a lightweight car smaller than the Zonda to market.

If built, the car would cost half as much as the million-euro Zonda.  It could potentially hit the market in 2015 with production levels set at about 500 units annually, compared to the current 40.

Pagani says the car's look could be based on the Pagani C9, set for launch later this year.  The C9 uses the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine from AMG, and comes with a €900,000 price tag.
