A new report is indicating that the MINI Beachcomber concept could be headed for production.

MINI's ever expanding lineup could get another addition thanks to a new report which indicates the Beachcomber concept is headed for production.

While details are limited, Auto Express is reporting that MINI's Global Brand Manager Dr. Wolfgang Armbrecht has stated "We will come back to this (the Beachcomber concept) to see if there is a business basis, as we were overwhelmed by the reaction. MINI will never show a concept that won't make production." He also commented "MINIs need authentic names" which could mean the production version will wear the Moke moniker when it is released.

As you may recall, the Beachcomber concept was unveiled at the 2010 North American International Auto Show as a preview of the Countryman crossover. Looking like a MINI-ified Jeep Wrangler, the Beachcomber featured removable doors and a canvas roof.
