Check out this video and find out more about the Chevy Camaro HPE800 package, producing up to 1,000 hp at the crank, now available from Hennessey.

Using a 415cid stroker engine and the HPE800 Twin Turbo upgrade, engineers at Hennessey Performance in Texas and California have dramatically boosted power on the Chevrolet Camaro to 815 horsepower (608 kW, 826 PS).  However, substitute 104-octane racing fuel for 93-octane petrol and the engine kicks out 1,000 hp (746 kW, 1014 PS) at the crank as measured on the dyno.

This translates to 847 rear-wheel horsepower (632 kW, 859 PS).  The company provided a video and graph of the dyno test to back up their claim.  The ZR1 engine used was tuned to produce up to 788 ft-lb (1067 Nm) of torque.

As previously reported, Hennessey are working on a new, HPE1000 upgrade that produces extreme numbers when using 93-octane fuel.  The package would be offered with a year-long warranty.

For now, customers will have to be happy enough with the HPE800 kit.  This includes steel rods, low-compression pistons, a forged steel crank, twin ball bearing turbo chargers, stainless steel turbo manifolds, and more.  Read the details in the press release below.
