OnStar has unveiled an improved Andriod app for the Chevrolet Volt. It will allow users to pinpoint their Volt using Google Maps.

Ahead of Google's I/O event, OnStar has unveiled an improved Android app for the Chevrolet Volt.

While details are limited, the app will feature Google Maps integration. Thanks to this addition, users will be able to see their current location and the location of their Volt (so they can easily find their car). More importantly, owners can send an address to the Volt and have OnStar Turn-By-Turn have directions waiting for them when they return to the vehicle.

As we previously reported, the app will also allow users to turn on the climate control system and remotely start the car from their phone.

According to OnStar president Chris Preuss, "While OnStar will never lose sight of our core focus on safety and security, this relationship is an example of how we're evolving our leadership position in connected vehicle technology. What we're talking about today is only the beginning."
