Volkswagen has unveiled the Bik.e concept at Auto China 2010.

While details are limited, the bike features an electric motor and a small battery pack. This combination allows the concept to travel up to 20 km (12.4 miles) at speeds of 20 km/h (12 mph). The bike can also be folded and placed into the spare wheel of a car.

According to Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, VW's Reach and Development Chief, "We think far beyond the car, as such, with a focus on mobility in general. We do this regularly in concept teams, made up of specialists, with the mission to look into the future and give up existing conventions."

Unlike the Lexus Hybrid Bicycle concept, the Bik.e may go into production.
