With the ink barely dry on the Daimler/Renault/Nissan partnership, new details have emerged about future technology sharing.

According to a recent report, the Infiniti G Series will receive a Mercedes inline four-cylinder engine. While nothing is official, speculation seems to suggest the G will be outfitted with the 1.8-liter engine from the C 180 CGI, C 200 CGI and the C 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY models. If this is correct, we can expect a power rating of 115 kW (154 hp / 156 PS) to 150 kW (201 hp / 204 PS).

As we reported yesterday, the alliance calls for the three companies to share diesel and petrol engines to save costs and meet stricter fuel economy/emission regulations.
