According to a recent report, Audi may bring the RS5 to the United States.
While details are limited, Automobile is reporting an unnamed source has told them an American launch is "increasingly likely." Despite being far from official, the possibility of an RS5 in the U.S. is tantalizing.
As you may recall, the Ingolstadt special features a 4.2-liter V8 with 331 kW (444 hp / 450 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the RS5 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds, before topping out at an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph) - although Audi can remove the speed limiter to allow the car to hit 280 km/h (174 mph).
If the RS5 is destined for America, look for a possible a launch before summer 2011.
