We have first details about MINI's new infotainment system, MINI Connected. The story inside.

MINI has sent out details about its new infotainment system.  MINI Connected is integrated into the large center-mounted speedometer, and will be introduced in Geneva next week.

The system is built to interface with the Apple iPhone, but it is unclear if it will work with other smartphones.  It does include the ability to provide streaming internet radio to the car's passengers.  Other features include a customizable interface, navigation, and up-to-the minute information access.  The infotainment unit is controlled by a joystick mounted in the center of the console.

MINI Connected will be rolled out on the market at the same time as the MINI Countryman crossover.
