Volkswagen's new mid-size sedan (aka NMS) has been rendered by the folks at Irmaododecio.
Based on the official sketch that was released last week, the rendering gives us our best glimpse of VW's American Passat replacement. While the image is still kind of generic, it seems to accurately predict the styling direction for the new sedan.
As we have previously reported, the NMS is expected to be priced in the low $20,000 range which puts it in a more competitive segment than the $26,995 Passat. This effectively means VW is prepared to go head to head with segment leaders such as the $19,395 Toyota Camry and $21,055 Honda Accord.
Set to be built in Chattanooga, Tennessee in late 2011, Volkswagen is planning to sell at least 100,000 mid-size sedans a year (in the US).
