Both will be unveiled at SEMA and are going to share the stage with other models loaded with M goodies.

You’d think that a fully-fledged M model would already have the complete arsenal of M parts, but that’s not the case as the catalog of M Performance Parts can make your M car even more M-er… Case in point, the recently launched M5 aka the “quintessential high-performance sports sedan” will be heading to Las Vegas in order to attend the SEMA to show off its extra M trinkets.

Update:

BMW says the vast majority of the new goodies are going to be available from day one at the time of ordering the new M5, which is slated to go on sale next spring in the United States. The rest of them will be offered later the same year. Let’s keep in mind the folks from Bavaria have already announced an optional Competition Package is also in the works and that should bring more significant upgrades, such as extra power and ceramic brakes (available as optional equipment on the regular M5). Expect to see it sometime next year.

Also at SEMA, a literally one-of-a-kind M3 will be shown to mark 30 decades of the M3 in the United States. Upgraded by BMW Individual and BMW Group Designworks, the unique creation will carry the “BMW M3 30 Years American Edition” moniker. The company isn’t saying at the moment of writing whether the special vehicle will actually be sold or it will remain a showcar.

These two new arrivals will have to share the stage with numerous other models, including the M2 Safety Car and the M1 IMSA Group 4 Race Car. In addition, a trio consisting of the X3 xDrive 30i, 440i, and the 740e will be there as well to showcase even more M Performance add-ons.

BMW has announced the public debut of the M3 30 Years American Edition and the M5 with M Performance Parts will take place on Tuesday, October 31.

The twin-turbo V8 unit propels the M5 via the new 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic and teams up with the M xDrive system to transfer all of the high-revving turbocharged engine’s might to the road, and allows a 0–60 mph acceleration run in a mere 3.2 seconds, making it the quickest and most agile to date.

The one of a kind (1/1) 2018 BMW M3 30 Years American Edition makes its world premiere to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the M3 in the US with a unique design created by BMW Group Designworks, built through BMW Individual. The BMW M3 is one of the most recognized vehicles in the automotive industry, spanning a long history of success that seems to have no boundaries, today it is still considered as one of the purest high performance street sports cars. With the launch of the first generation BMW M3 in 1986, BMW M revolutionized the sports car as it was, built first and foremost for performance. Originally conceived as homologation special for Group A Touring car racing – as seen in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM), it became the most successful touring car in the history of BMW. Its arrival to the US market in 1987 signaled the birth of the legend in America and to celebrate its first 30 years on the road and track, BMW Group Designworks teamed up with BMW Individual to create a one of a kind design highlighting its Motorsport heritage through American iconography.
