A spiritual successor to 3-door RAV-4, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser has at last made an official public entry in Geneva. Toyota is pinning its hopes on it to revive its compact SUV ambitions after the discontinuation of RAV-4 3-door.

The Urban Cruiser by Toyota is now officially being launched in Europe after getting a warm welcome at the Geneva Motor Show earlier today. The compact SUV falls below RAV-4 which has grown in all directions from what it used to be when it was first launched in 1994.

To be sold as an urban “everywhere” small SUV, Urban Cruiser features 4x4 drivetrains, a five-door entry point and room enough for five, with luggage. You’d probably never think it from its dimensions. Toyota is a known responsible corporate citizen, and is therefore just as concerned about reducing emissions as everyone else in the motor game. Urban Cruiser is expected to register 140g/km in emissions while helping Toyota achieve this average by next year.
