High-quality leather and real wood trim provide luxurious appointments for the Southfork's cabin.
Ram upped its luxury pickup game earlier this year with the announcement of the 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition, and now the company is providing another option in the high-end truck market by launching the Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition with amenities like real wood trim. Buyers in Texas can also get the new Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver Edition with a little more style than the standard trucks.
The Southfork edition has an opulent cabin that features Natura Plus full-grain leather upholstery in a mix of Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige shades with Ruby Red stitching. The fine hides even wrap the A- and B-pillar grab handles. Plus, there’s real walnut trim on the steering wheel, and walnut-colored ash shows up on the center stack. Like the Tungsten edition, there’s a suede headliner, which comes in a Light Greystone hue on this model. The Longhorn badges on the floor mats are metal.
Ram equips the truck with its range-topping Uconnect 4C infotainment system. It features an 8.4-inch screen and has amenities like navigation, Apply Carplay, and 4G WiFi connectivity.
The Southfork isn’t immediately obvious from the outside. The only major change is a chrome Longhorn badge along the tailgate.
The Laramie Longhorn Southfork is available on the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models in Crew Cab and Mega Cab bodies with short or long bed lengths. Prices for the edition on the 1500 start at $52,615 after $1,395 destination, and it goes for $57,015 (after destination) on the 2500.
Buyers that still want a good-looking truck but don’t need all of the Southfork’s amenities can choose the Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver edition (above). They feature chrome parts for the grille surround, its mesh inserts, mirror caps, side steps, front tow hook, and 20-inch wheels. Inside, buyers can pick from a mix of cloth and vinyl upholstery in Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige or Black and Diesel Gray.
It’s available on the 2500 and 3500 models with the Crew Cab body. Customers can get them with the 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter V8 engines, plus the 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel. Either two- or four-wheel drive variants are available. Pricing starts at $46,130 after $1,395 for destination.

About the Ram Lone Star
In 2002, Ram Truck was the first manufacturer to recognize the strength of the pickup truck market in Texas and to offer an exclusive edition for the state. The Ram Lone Star edition was the first pickup truck designed by Texans and built specifically for Texans.
The Ram Lone Star edition is by far the brand’s best-selling model in Texas, accounting for over 50 percent of the half-ton mix there. Since the Lone Star’s debut, Ram has sold more than 230,000 of the Texas-only models.
About the Ram Laramie Longhorn
Ram introduced the Ram Laramie Longhorn edition to State Fair of Texas audiences in September 2010. It was the most luxurious truck ever produced by the company. The Laramie Longhorn is layered with southwestern design iconography. Inside and out, Laramie Longhorn is loaded with remarkable features and design cues from traditionally handcrafted, time-tested wares, such as the antique pocket watch, a fine pair of hand-tooled leather cowboy boots or a horseman’s saddle. The Ram Laramie Longhorn’s metal work and leather work are second to none.
Ram Longhorn models are distinguished by unique badging, wheels and grilles, as well as premium headlamps and tail lamps. Inside, Longhorn is trimmed in real Walnut Burl inserts stained in Canyon Brown or Cattle Tan. Longhorn’s premium seating features Cattle Tan leather with Black welting/stitching or Canyon Brown with or without premium leather filigrees. Front seats are heated and cooled, while rears are heated. Longhorn models also feature model-specific Uconnect Access and Multiview cluster screens, which complement the overall design theme.
About Ram Trucks in Texas
More Texans drive pickup trucks than drivers in any other state; 19 percent of motor vehicle registrations versus 12 percent national average. In fact, Ram sells nearly two-and-a-half times as many pickup trucks in Texas as it does in the next highest volume state.
The Texas Auto Writers Association named the 2017 Ram Laramie Longhorn the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas and the Ram Power Wagon the Off-road Truck of Texas.
