The top version has over 1,000 horsepower on tap.
After revealing renderings of the AM37 speedboat in 2015, Quintessence Yachts finally has a pair of real-world examples on the water at the Monaco Yacht Show. The company finishes one of them with a Diavolo Red exterior and Cream Truffle leather cabin. The other is Ocellus Teal with Ivory leather and teak decking at the rear.
Quintessence Yachts can build the AM37 in a variety of specifications depending on buyer’s desires. The top version, which the ship builder calls the AM37S, uses a pair of gas-fueled Mercury Racing engines that each produces 520 horsepower (388 kilowatts). In the middle of the range, the firm installs two, 430-hp (321-kW) gasoline-powered Mercury engines. The standard setup packs two, 370-hp (276-kW) diesel powerplants also from Mercury.
Measuring 37 feet (11.3 meters), Aston Martin’s boat isn’t the type of yacht you could live on, like the Dynamiq GTT 115 with a design from Studio F. A. Porsche, which also debuts at the Monaco Yacht Show. Instead, Quintessence imagines the AM37 as a watercraft that owners would enjoy for the day, but they would likely return to dry land for the evening.
When not in service The AM37 does a transformation like the Batmobile because a mobile app lets owners deploy sliding carbon-fiber panels that protect the cabin from harsh weather or curious onlookers.
Once open, pilots nestle into an automotive-like cockpit. A 15-inch touchscreen digital dashboard display shows information for navigation and the entertainment system. Drivers can also toggle controls for things like activating the anchor, deploying the carbon-fiber bimini top, and extending the retractable swimming platform.
Below the deck, there’s a small cabin for relaxation. It includes a sofa that converts into a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a tiny galley kitchen, including a drawer-style refrigerator. A 48-inch TV down there can display the navigation screen, too.
Quintessence Yachts has its headquarters in the Netherlands but builds the AM37 near Southampton, England. The production locations lends a connection to Aston Martin British legacy. Assembly of the third AM37 is already underway there.

27 September 2017, Monaco: Visitors to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be able to personally experience two prototype Aston Martin AM37S powerboats as Quintessence Yachts collaborates with Feadship to tender their VIP guests at the Show and enhance their experience with the “Superyacht Safari”, a guided tour onboard the AM37S in the Monaco Bay among the extraordinary superyachts produced by the world-famous luxury shipyard.
Finished in eye-catching Diavolo Red with a Cream Truffle leather upholstery and contrast red stitching, the first AM37S presented at the VIP hospitality area at Quai Rainier III showcases the true bespoke nature of the tailor-made powerboat.
The second boat is another equally striking AM37S prototype, presented in Ocellus Teal with a luxurious Foglizzo marine grade Ivory leather hide and natural teak decks.
Visitors will notice the contrast between the two boats in Monaco with the specification limited only by the owners’ imagination. Each AM37 is completely customisable, making it highly unlikely that any two boats will ever be the same. Made up of 3,500 unique parts, designed, engineered and created specifically for the AM37 including the one-piece handcrafted double curvature windscreen, which is a piece of art in its own right, the AM37 is the ultimate day boat.
Handcrafted in the UK by Quintessence Yachts, the exquisite 37-foot Aston Martin powerboats fuse maritime and automotive worlds with style and elegance. Combining the highest degree of technology and innovation, the perfect balance of design and engineering, with performance, comfort, luxury and functionality.
The AM37 is available in two different versions: a ‘gran turismo’ leisure powerboat with a choice of twin 370 hp Mercury diesels or two 430 hp Mercury petrol engines, and a more extreme AM37S version with twin 520hp petrol engines by Mercury Racing.
Among the unrivalled technology featured onboard, customers can enjoy unique carbon fibre sliding cockpit panels which can be remotely operated with a mobile app. Navigation, the control monitor and entertainment systems are integrated with a 15’ touchscreen in the dashboard, with advanced functions to control the electric anchor, retractable carbon fibre bimini and retractable swim platform. Each of these phenomenal day cruisers is manufactured using the latest in composite technologies and features many carbon fibre mouldings, including the upper deck.
“We are delighted that guests of the Feadship VIP Superyacht Safari at this year’s prestigious Monaco Yacht Show will be able to experience first-hand the exhilaration of the AM37S, said Quintessence Yachts CEO Mariella Mengozzi. “This is an exciting time for our company. The first two production boats are now on the water and the third is on its way. The AM37 is a truly bespoke luxury powerboat, giving clients almost limitless options to personalise the specification, colour and interior but also the flexibility to match their requirements for use on lake or sea.”
Set in the picturesque Port Hercules in the principality of Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show represents the pinnacle of luxury. The show, which is supported by Prince Albert II, is the destination for yachting enthusiasts from across the globe. The AM37S powerboats manufactured by Quintessence Yachts will be based at the Feadship VIP Lounge located at Quai Rainier III, Monaco, from 27 - 30 September.
