West London Audi, the world's biggest Audi Centre (190,000 square-foot), opens its doors to the public in the next seven days. To mark this momentous occasion Audi UK presented the R8 V10 Spyder to a select 300 guests. The soft-top supercar can be ordered from next month for £109,580 OTR with the 6-speed manual and £114,670 OTR for the R tronic automated manual model.
Audi first unveiled the R8 V10 Spyder at the 2009 Frankfurt International Motor Show last month. It runs the same 5.2-litre V10 engine found in the coupe. The main point of departure from the coupe is the soft-top which uses electrohydraulics to open its canvass in 19 seconds and store it inside a compartment above the engine. It can also be activated at speeds of up to 31mph.
Features include LED headlights for the exterior and equipment like heated Fine Nappa leather seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system and an iPod connection as standard in the interior.
Audi will deliver the first customer cars to UK and German dealers in the first quarter of 2010.
