BMW will build just 500 of them.
After putting down an order for a new BMW M5, some buyers might want a matching bicycle, and the German automaker is happy to serve them with the BMW M Bike Limited Carbon Edition. It comes in Marina Bay Blue Metallic paint just like the company’s latest sport sedan.

BMW will build just 500 units of the M Bike Limited Carbon Edition, and they’ll sell for 1,400 euros ($1,674 at current exchange rates). The cycles use a hydro-formed aluminum frame. Plus, the fork, seat posts, and spacers are carbon fiber to save weight. A set of hydraulic Shimano disk brakes can slow the bike down with ease.
The new M5 packs a version of BMW’s 4.4-liter biturbo with 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters) of maximum torque, versus 575 hp (428 kW) and 500 lb-ft (677 Nm) of torque from the previous tune. The output now routes through an all-wheel-drive system than can send all of the power to the rear wheels if the driver wants. The latest generation can reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.4 seconds. Deliveries don’t begin until spring 2018, though. BMW won’t yet release pricing details for the M5 in the United States, but the sedan will start at €117,900 (approximately $141,000) in Europe.
Patient buyers with a desire for the ultimate performance M5 should wait until later in 2018 when the Competition Package joins the options list. "The Competition Package will bring tweaked dynamics, and likely standard ceramic brakes – which are a $10,000 option on the standard car,” Andy Cook, BMW's product executive for large cars, told Victoria Parrott, Road Test Editor at Motor1 UK. A stiffer suspension and slightly lower weight might also be among the upgrades.
