Alfa Romeo has taken the wraps off the new MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (four-leaf clover).
Essentially a replacement for the defunct MiTo GTA, the Quadrifoglio Verde boasts a 170hp 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine. Connected to a new six-speed transmission, which has been specially designed to deliver quick changes and improved fuel efficiency, the MiTo should become more competitive with the latest crop of hot hatches.
While performance specifications weren't released, Alfa says the Quadrifoglio Verde will only consume 4.8L/100km (49 mpg) while emitting 139 g/km of CO2 (in the extra-urban cycle).
Since speed isn't everything, the company added a 'Dynamic Suspension' with continuously variable shock absorbers. Alfa says the suspension "...allows the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde to excel even further in terms of agility and handling, giving it exceptional drivability and unparalleled safety." With three different setting (Normal, All Weather, and Dynamic), owners can custom tailor the ride to fit their particular driving situation.
