A small circuit around the BMW stand will be a highlight for the German brand. Debutants will be driven on it live for spectators to watch.
People who visit the BMW stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show have been promised something quite innovative for motor show exhibitions. The stand will be surrounded by a circuit that's a few hundred metres long. What's exciting is that all the premiering cars will drive around the track for the audience to see.
Top attractions for presentation are the Vision EfficientDynamics concept, the X1 SAV, the 320d EfficientDynamics Edition, ActiveHybrid 7, the ActiveHybrid X6 and the 5 Series Gran Turismo. Although not mentioned in the official release it's safe to assume the two latest M models will be present as well.
What's also significant is that for the first time the BMW Group will exhibit all three of its car brands in one stand. That means BMW (including M), MINI and Rolls-Royce within the same vicinity.
"Motor shows are an important aspect of our communication with customers, the media and trade visitors," said Thomas Muderlak who's responsible for the BMW Group's exhibition concept at the IAA. "We are delighted to maintain our tradition of hosting innovative displays at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and present all three brands together for the first time. A highlight for our visitors will be the chance to experience our vehicles actually driving around the BMW stand: we will be interpreting the BMW brand's motto of ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure' quite literally."
Those who can make it into the exhibition building can look forward to observing demonstrations from lounges with what is said to be a great view of the makeshift circuit's banked corner.
