Wiesmann has announced they will introduce the new MF5 Roadster at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Based on the MF5 Coupe, the Roadster boasts sleek retro styling with an unmistakable Wiesmann grille. Inside, the convertible features acres of leather upholstery and an odd center-mounted instrument cluster.
Power comes from a 5.0-liter BMW V10 engine (from the M5 / M6), which produces 507 HP and 520 Nm of torque. This enables the MF5 Roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).
According to Wiesmann, the Roadster delivers "the essential combination of sportiness and safety." To this end, the company says the car features a perfectly balanced suspension, an extendable rear wing, and a torsion-resistant aluminum monocoque chassis with integrated side-impact protection. Other safety items include dual airbags, an anti-lock braking system, and dynamic stability control.
Production will be limited to 55 units, and prices start at €189,500 ($269,735).
