Corvette is raffling off a unique ZR1 called the Hero Edition to a children's charity in December. It has extra decor items and a 638hp LS9 V8.

A one-of-a-kind Corvette ZR1 goes on raffle on December 23rd to raise funds for the Kids Wish Network. Called the 2009 Hero Edition ZR1, the car stands out with its red accents, special graphics, and additional carbon fiber components. Unique emblems and embroidery will ensure the owner feels extra special.

Powering the Hero Edition ZR1 is a supercharged 638hp (469kW) LS9 V8 engine which can be viewed from outside through the polycarbonate window on the bonnet. Instead of the well-known blue cowl covering onlookers will be confronted by this unique red one. This is a true one-of-a-kind super Corvette.

Next to the Hero Edition ZR1 will be a restored black/red 1967 Corvette 427ci roadster with 390hp (287kW). It will also be raffled off.

The Kids Wish Network has a monthly gift package for the Hero of the Month award which honours a child that has overcome traumatic circumstances in his/ her life through courage and spirit, hence the name of this special ‘Vette.

Unfortunately or fortunately the car cannot be bought from a normal dealer but a US$3 ticket could get one in the garage. There is no limit as to how many tickets one can buy and the more you buy, the cheaper they get.
